Van signage and your website: matching your brand

October 15, 20262 min read

Your van gets seen by hundreds of people a week. Someone who notices it on Monday may search for you on Thursday. If what they find does not look like the van, the link is lost.

Use the same name

Your business name on the van, your website, your Google profile and your invoices should be exactly the same. If the van says “J Smith Roofing” and the website says “Smith Roofing Services”, people may not realise it is you.

Match the look

Use the same colours, logo and style on both. You do not need anything fancy: a clear logo and one or two consistent colours is plenty. See choosing a logo and colours.

Put the website on the van

Show your web address, not just a phone number, in a clear size and font. A short, easy-to-spell domain helps. See own your domain name.

Make the phone number match

The number on the van should be the number on the website, in the footer and as a tap-to-call button at the top of each page. Use the same number on your Google profile.

Say the same thing

Use the same short line on both. If the van says “Roofing, repairs and emergency leaks across Liverpool”, the homepage should say much the same. Customers should feel they have landed in the right place.

Show the van on the site

A photo of your van and team on the About page helps people connect the two. It also helps customers who have seen you on their street feel they already know you.

Check before you print

If you are about to sign your van or buy workwear, get your domain, email address and logo sorted first, so you do not have to reprint later.

The van brings people to your name. The website and profile turn that into an enquiry, as long as they match.
